My own experience

In 1960 and 1961 I joined the whaling down south at South Georgia, at Husvik Harbour and Grytviken. The last month Husvik Harbour was closed down, and we were transferred to Grytviken.

We weren't that bad really! The photo above is from Grytviken in Weat Cumberland Bay and the church at Grytviken (build in 1913 I believe).
